About me

I'm an experienced user of sphere dating back to the 0.92 days of the engine (approx. 2001), and have been using it ever since. Below are what I would consider my main projects, all of which are in sphere unless where otherwised noted. Released versions are available from my site listed in the links section.

Previous Releases

Resorsis

The first game I made during my first summer with sphere. Contained a few hours of gameplay, and very, very rough systems.

Larium

The second game I made during my second summer with sphere. About an hour or two of gameplay, styled to your normal tactical rpg. Horrendous graphics made by me.

Migget Chainsaw Hands

A game made for a 72 hour competition with teammates Ironshanks and Rooster. I did the coding, and they did the graphics and sound/music. Won first in the competition and best music/sound.

Turbie

Another platformer made for a competition, except this time for 2-3 weeks. I did the graphics and coding, while drumstick did the music. Tied for first overall (of only two serious entries :/)

QBit

Yet another platformer for a competition for the Game Programming Club at the University of Toronto. Won first. Was made with C++ and OpenGl.

Jack

Jack is a platform game based on the Webcomic of the same name. The story in this game is minimal, so those who don't know the comic should be ok. Essentially, you play as the grim reaper and sin of wrath (Jack), who is really pissed off with the sin of Greed (Vince), and goes through some of the lovely locations in Hell looking for him. The game is horror themed, so expect blood. A lot of blood. Even more than Turbie. Way more.

Scarlett Blood

A noir(-ish) styled adventure game made for the same competition as QBit. Was made with C++ and OpenGl. Will be updated on my website eventually.

Warriors of the Sword

A strategy game similar to that of the classic Gemfire game. Made in roughly two weeks for a Secret Santa game making event.

Cheeseohol 2: The Actual Game

A Wii drinking game made in Sphere. Play with up to three other players by connecting your wiimotes to your pc (via a bluetooth connection), and then strap bottles of beer to your wii-motes. Drink the beer to play! Made during TOJam #4.

The Particle of Infinite Free Will

A top-down, psychedelic, action-puzzle game, where the player plays through a strange psychedelic experience. Made during TOJam #5.

Rework The Dead: Evil

A "spiritual" sequel to the Jack game, this game is a platformer shooter with a similar design to the dos game Abuse (WASD to move, mouse to aim and shoot). Uses a custom version of sphere for added performance (required for the gorey bits).


Current Projects

The Rainis Manuscript

My most sophisticated game yet, and has been in development for over three years. Like Larium, it is a tactical rpg, using my own graphics and a 3d map engine with Sphere. Now, Sphere didn't really have 3d support in the version of the engine I'm using to make this, but that doesn't stop stubborn people like me.
